About Us

A bit of history

When the founder of DPT moved from Colorado, he already had experience with a continuum of care model from rehab to fitness.  After a national PT firm moved out of downtown Indy in 2007, Bryce Taylor PT, MS saw the need for a convenient therapy location in the heart of downtown.  He started Downtown Physical Therapy in November of 2007 that has now treated thousands of downtown office professionals, factory workers, and recreational athletes.

A glimpse of the present

Although many physical therapy providers have followed Bryce’s vision for convenient care in downtown Indianapolis, many have not made the pledge to offer customized care.  Whether or not you have a doctor’s prescription, we are happy to see you for most orthopedic conditions.  Come on in and give us a try.  We offer quality service and convenience in downtown Indianapolis!

Physical Therapy

Therapeutic care to restore movement and function to people limited by chronic pain or injury.  Treatment may include exercise, manual techniques to optimize movement, and education. We gladly work in collaboration with other specialties to offer comprehensive care as needed to quickly restore you to your optimal health.

Fitness Training

Following physical rehabilitation, some folks prefer to commit to a maintenance program to enhance strength, power, speed, and flexibility.  We offer this service on a case-by-case basis.  If this service interests you, let us know and we’ll set up an interview.

Return to life program

This is a very new service that is still in the development stages.  This unique set of programming will offer a low cost alternative to some aspects of traditional physical therapy.  Keep your eye out for the launch of this exciting service!

Bryce Taylor is the founder and sole practitioner at Downtown Physical Therapy & Wellness.  He graduated with honors from Seattle Pacific University and University of Colorado School of Medicine.  He has been practicing physical therapy for over 15 years, and is a programming consultant to a global fitness company, national presenter, certified Pilates instructor, SFMA practitioner, fitness enthusiast, competitive volleyball player, and father of two beautiful girls.

He prefers a hands-on approach, treating orthopedic and sports medicine conditions and programming strength and mobility.  His global exposure to the healthcare system have largely centered around an inter-regional dependence model for comprehensive treatment.  Some of this influence has been from his experience on the lecture circuit.  He has lectured for national conferences and annual meetings for the American Physical Therapy Association, American Chiropractic Association Sports Council, National Academy of Sports Medicine and Science, and others.  He occasionally consults with the Cincinnati Bengals for strength and conditioning and is viewed by peers in the fitness and rehab industries as a hybrid and friendly to all points along the continuum.
